The Windigo Island Water Treatment Plant Project aimed to improve the water quality and infrastructure in the community. The project involved the construction of a new water treatment facility, designed to provide safe drinking water to the community. In addition to the new treatment plant, the project also included the installation of new water mains and raw water piping throughout the community. These new pipelines were essential for ensuring that the treated water could be distributed to all resident and businesses in the area. One of the unique features of this project was the requirement for decentralized servicing. This meant that some of the houses in the community were not able to be connected to the main water supply, so alternative methods of providing clean water had to be implemented.
