The Bethesda Regional Health Centre Inpatient Services Expansion Project consists of a major, 59,000 SF expansion to the original split-level hospital built in the 1960s. Occupying a compact site, the two-storey addition maximizes the square footage to house:
• A new Surgery Unit with 3 operating theatres
• A pre-operative consult room
• 15 inpatient care spots for pre/post-operative care
• Sterile supply room and surgical equipment disinfection and sterilization room
• A new reception and waiting area for patients and family
• A new, expanded lab to meet space requirements for modern diagnostic lab equipment
• A cultural space to support multidenominational services
• Expanded space to support physician and resident services, including three on-call sleep rooms
• A new receiving dock

The project came in 3% under budget, even though flooding in the basement from extreme rainfall pushed Substantial Completion back by 2 months.
