The Bethesda Hospital Emergency Department Upgrade was a multi-phase project involving a combination of a renovation and a 13,000 square foot addition to the existing hospital. Phasing was an important aspect of the project and extensive planning with the owner and hospital staff was required to accommodate both the hospital and construction activities. Special requirements and techniques were required such as infection control, as well as shut down procedures and emergency response plans.
