The Attawapiskat Elementary School is a new 60,000 square foot educational facility located in a remote community in Northern Ontario. Construction was unique in that the entire school was constructed on four feet of lightweight Styrofoam fill buried under another three feet of granular fill. The facility features a pre-engineered gymnasium that is tied back to the rest of the school with a large open concept hallway.
