Surveyor

Penn-co Construction is a leading construction company currently hiring a surveyor to join our team. This role involves working across a variety of Penn-co projects, with responsibilities both in the field and in the office. While based out of Steinbach, MB, the successful candidate must be willing to travel frequently and accommodate extended stays at project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and manage geospatial data from multiple sources.
  • Provide support to design teams regarding coordinate systems and survey data adjustments.
  • Perform surveys for geospatial data collection and construction layout.
  • Supervise and inspect construction layouts.
  • Test and implement new geospatial tools (hardware, applications, and software).
  • Develop, inform, and implement best practices for geospatial data collection, workflow, quality control, and management.
  • Maintain and protect survey equipment.
  • Import/export survey data and manage methodology for collection.
  • Develop layout files from multiple formats (.pdf, .dxf, CAD, .csv, etc.).
  • Prepare as-built files and project turnover documentation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Geomatics or Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Legal surveyor designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience with construction layout (urban/rural roadways, linear pipes, bridges, civil infrastructure, and earthworks).
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and Trimble Business Centre.
  • Extensive GPS, Total Station (Robotic), and rod-and-level experience (Leica/Trimble/Topcon).
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including extended stays on project sites.
