Description

The Hollow Water First Nation Lagoon and Sewage Treatment Building project serves as an upgrade to the existing lagoons that are currently in place. The project includes a new 2,700 square foot aeration building and extensive site work to upgrade the existing lagoons. The new aeration building houses new aeration blowers, chemical storage and injection equipment as well as the tertiary sand filtration system. The site work included decommissioning of one of two existing lagoons. The second lagoon is separated into two separate aerated lagoons by constructing a new dike, raising the elevation of the existing perimeter dikes and installation of a new aeration system. Two new SAGR cells have been constructed to provide secondary treatment. Also included in the site work were new roadwork, parking lot and a new 1.7km lagoon discharge line to the Wanipigow River. The new aeration building and lagoon upgrades has expanded the current operating capacity, bringing all new, up to date equipment to better facilitate the needs of the Hollow Water community.
