Penn-co Construction is a leading construction company currently hiring an Estimator to join our team working at our Steinbach office. As the Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates, including materials and labour, while ensuring all necessary pricing data is up to date. Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed review of drawings and specifications to determine scope and requirements
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
  • Perform material take-offs and quantity estimates for various project components
  • Review sub-trade qualifications and assess quotes for compliance with project requirements
  • Work collaboratively within the estimating team to ensure all bid requirements are met

Qualifications

  • Training or experience in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of estimating principles
  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Proficiency in Excel and Bluebeam
  • Detail-orientated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under strict deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with architects, engineers, subcontractors and internal teams
