Penn-co Construction is a leading construction company currently hiring a Data Analyst.  This role is located at our head office in Steinbach, MB.  You will work closely with multiple stakeholders—from department managers to technology leads—to translate business needs into actionable solutions. Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean and analyse real-time production data to improve estimating accuracy.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to track production performance and detect variances.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish standard production benchmarks and KPIs.
  • Identify trends in cost vs. productivity and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Support integration of data collection tools and automation systems with Penn-co’s ERP and project management software.
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards for project tracking, resource allocation, and financial forecasting.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support project management, procurement, and executive decision-making.
  • Conduct trend analysis to improve budgeting, scheduling, and operational planning.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to enhance date integration across internal systems
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and governance practices align with industry best practices.
  • Support various business units (finance, estimating, operations) with customized data analysis to optimize decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 2 plus years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role; construction industry experience is an asset.
  • Strong skills in data visualization and reporting tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Experience with excel (advanced), SQL, and database management
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, construction technology, or project management software; experience with CMiC is an asset.
  • Ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Experience with forecasting models, variance analysis, and performance tracking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—comfortable collaborating with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
