LEED - Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
|
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system was developed in the early 1990’s when a need was realized for a standardized green building rating system to affirm and encourage green building. The building rating system has seen ongoing development over the years in order to accommodate different building types. There are 4 certification levels for LEED which are: LEED Platinum 52+ credits LEED Gold 39 – 51 credits LEED Silver 33 – 39 credits LEED Certified 26 - 32 credits The Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC) was established in 2002 and has adopted the LEED 2.1 system. Penn-Co is proud to be a member of the CaGBC and is a strong supporter of LEED. We have been constructing LEED Certified facilities since 2006.
